You want your beach themed wedding to be beautiful and have all the trappings normally associated with nuptuals, but you would like your beach wedding centerpieces to reflect the mood of the day. Don’t worry that this will be difficult. In fact it can be surprisingly simple and cost effective which is always a bonus in the present economic climate!

Beach wedding centerpieces should be simple and natural to echo the surroundings. Four things commonly help to make up beach wedding centerpieces – glass, sand, shells and flowers. These can be combined with candles to make beautiful designs. Here are a few ideas:

1) You have to make sure the candles are safe and are not blown out by a gust of wind, so why not fill the bottom of a clear glass vase with sand, put your candle in the center of the sand and the glass acts as a shield. Decorate around it with seashells or flowers and you have a very simple wedding table centerpiece.

2) Take a low vase and fill with tropical, colorful flowers such as red antherium, hibiscus and birds of paradise flowers. Palm or banana leaves continue the tropical theme. I suggest a low vase, because you don’t want the overall height of your wedding table arrangement to interfere with guests’ ability to see each other over the top! Another tip is to check the suitability of your flowers for a seaside wedding in advance. Your florist will probably be able to tell you, but if there is any doubt then ask him or her for a sample of one or two flowers in advance. Leave them in a vase in the main reception are for a few hours to see how they hold up.

3) How about 3 clear straight glass vases arranged together, with varying amounts of water in each and a floating candle in each one. Again, the arrangement could be adorned with seashells or flowers if desired, but it would also be elegantly beautiful on its own.
